The Author
Stories written for two readers first — and for every family after.
Jeremy Tinder
Jeremy Tinder is a dad, an IT professional, and a storyteller who believes history is best learned the way the Tinders learn it — together, out loud, with snacks packed and questions encouraged. He writes under a pen name that honors his late brother, and he writes about a family that looks a lot like his own: a tech-dad who explains everything in computer metaphors, a mom from the Philippines who chose America on purpose, and two daughters who make every century they visit more interesting.
The American Adventure series grew from a simple conviction: kids don’t fall in love with their country through dates and tests. They fall in love with it through people — through a farm boy at Camp Sherman, a riveter at Willow Run, a grandmother facing tanks with a thermos of salabat, and a new citizen raising her right hand in courtroom 3-B.
Why These Books Exist
This series is, above everything else, a dedication to my two daughters.
“No matter where I am, I will always be in your hearts,
and I will love you forever.”
Long after these adventures are read, I want the girls to be able to open any of these books and find us in them — the breakfasts, the questions, the snacks, the courage — and know that the last page of the journal was always meant for them. That’s why it says CONTINUED.
